wendy bradshaw-dIRECTOR AND sPECIAL iNSTRUCTION

Wendy Bradshaw has a doctorate in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in special education from the University of South Florida. She also earned her Master of Arts from the University of South Florida in special education with a concentration in behavior disorders. She earned her undergraduate degree in preschool/primary, elementary, and special education at Florida Southern College. Dr. Bradshaw has served in multiple roles in the field of education, including eight years of classroom teaching, seven years as an early interventionist working with families, and currently is in her ninth year of serving at the college level as an instructor. She has several academic publications to her name in the areas of cultural competence, early childhood special education, educational program evaluation, and teacher preparation.

sUSAN lEOPOLD-bEGINNING pRIMARY tEACHER

Susan graduated from the University of South Florida with a BS in Early Childhood Education. She has more than 20 years of experience in working with young children and has five children of her own with her husband Erich. 

vicki west-lOWER pRIMARY tEACHER

Vicki graduated from Western Illinois University in 1982 with a BS in Business with a concentration is management and a minor in finance and parks/recreation. In 1998, her family relocated to Lakeland, Florida, where she was able to continue her education to receive her Florida teaching certificate. Vicki has been a classroom teacher since August 2000 and has taught in early elementary for 16 years. She has served as an inclusion classroom teacher with children at all academic levels as well as a STEM classroom teacher with children showing advanced abilities. 

Kristen Kirby-Intermediate pRIMARY tEACHER

Kristen graduated from Southeastern University with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education with endorsements in ESOL and Reading. She taught 3rd grade for 3 years in the public school system, but realized there must be a better way to "do" education. In her search, she taught art to children and adults at a local studio. Kristen was excited to learn about R School, a place where she could encourage students to be creative and independent! She loves that kids can be kids while learning what they need and want to learn. 

KEvin Peoples-Upper Primary Teacher

Kevin graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. He taught in the public school system for 13 years before deciding that he would rather teach children in creative and interesting ways. Kevin enjoys teaching through games and encouraging children to read and write for enjoyment.
