May 2017 Yoga (Friday ages 6-9)

Course Description: Fun, Positivity, Focus, and Relaxation . . . Yoga is a timeless form of movement and relaxation. It is my intention to uphold the sacredness of this ancient practice, while also adding the fun and excitement that children need to stimulate their interest. During the 4 week course, we will explore body motion and self-awareness. Class themes will be based on the 7 Chakras (or energy centers in the body) found in yogic tradition. Each Chakra focuses on specific physical, mental, and emotional needs, which will be explored through positive affirmation and discussion. Each class will contain approximately ten minutes of warm-ups/community building activity, twenty minutes of gentle postures (asanas), five minutes of breathing techniques (pranayama), and ten minutes of relaxation (śavāsana). The end of the class is reserved for a guided and open discussion on each student's personal experience of yoga.

Please make sure you complete the enrollment process before registering for classes.  The enrollment fee has been waived, but we still need the information on that form.  You only need to do it once per term.
